St Patrick´s Day dessert

For celebrating St Patrick´s Day a health and easy dessert you can do is this avocado cream..

Have you ever seen an avocado tree? They are huge..I had a good time in my childhood climbing into these big ones.

Avocado Cream
  • 1 medium avocado pitted and peeled * (size of your closed hand).
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • drops of lemon
  • More or less 1/4 cup of milk
  • grated lemon peel to decorate
Mix the all above ingredients in a blender and bit by bit add some milk until it gets the consistence desired..When adding more milk you will have a delicious green milkshake!

Another delicious way but more caloric instead is adding condensed milk instead of sugar.

Ps. the avocado should not be so hard, to know that, press it very gently. It must be a bit soft. You can buy it hard and wait some days (2 or 3), it will get more soft, and ready to eat.

It is important to serve it just after it has been prepared, otherwise it will oxidize and will get an ugly brown color!

*For a beautiful and more rustic presentation, serve it in its own peel, as you can see on the picture below.

By the way this is how an avocado looks like in Brazil..Huge!

recipe Banoffee Tartelette

em português aqui
I this post I have sho to you my version of the Banoffee pie. This delight is a mixture of banana and toffee and chocolate.

Banoffee TarteletteDough
100g butter at room temperature
200g digestive biscuits.

Crush the biscuits in a blender and mix the butter until it becomes homogeneous
Line the molds with this mass layer .. not too thick.
Take the dough to bake for about 10 min in an oven 180°C.

Take the dought out of the mould

Banana cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk cooked in a pressure cooker for 40 min .. (wait for it to cool down for open the can, otherwise it may explode) or dulce de leche prefabricated,
4 bananas chopped into small pieces
mix the two ingredients.

1 can double cream,

half cup of sugar
whipped the two ingredients until soft peaks form

Assembling the pie
put up 1 / 3 of the banana cream molds and over until it reaches 2 / 3 of the whipped cream molds
Sprinkle cocoa powder on top

Banana roses
To make roses, slice the banana in 3 different sizes-no wider, but longer: three smaller slices to the pistil and the first two petals, two medium slices for the following three petals and larger for the latter.
Arrange banana slices on a nonstick baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes or until the face is down with the caramel-own fruit sugar.
This cooking time is necessary so that the slices become malleable and do not break in time to shape the rose.
Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes.
Pull away the slices gently with a spatula.
Shape the roses organizing directly in the pie's top.
Ps: A large banana makes an average of 4 roses
Personally I loved the result .. An irresistible and decadent bite!
Until next time..xo

The Rose on top I did following the recipe of Chocolatria blog here.

Happy New Year!

First of all .. Happy New Year to you all .. I wish everyone a good baking year!

The first day of the year was also the first anniversary of Be Sweetli.
Looking back on all the courses that I did and sweets that I made, I am very pleased with the goals that I have achieved and receiving a great feedback.

This year I want to bake more (carved) cakes and confections and work more on this blog.
Therefore I think it's very important to invest in a more powerful camera .. and also in a larger oven.

I do not know if you saw this guy below here.

He was the center of attention at Christmas around here
A Santa Claus carved cake completely edible from head to toe .. I followed the workshop with Vera Madeira in São Paulo, Brazil.

I loved the course and I am more excited to make more carved cakes.. but as I'm now on holidays in Brazil and without my materials here I have to wait to return to The Netherlands to continue working on it.

I am having a great time here with my family.. but I can not deny that my head is full of ideas concerning the next steps that I want to take.

So let´s get to work! ..and have a nice 2012!
